Those who know me well will understand why I want to support research into Alzheimer’s. This dreadful disease is affecting my little sister, the person who has always been by my side through good times and bad, the most loving, generous, beautiful person I know. This disease is robbing our shared memories of growing up together and also of the future memories that we hoped to make. Words cannot explain how heartbreaking it is when she says she can’t remember what I look like. If I could swap places I would in an instant. My sister will shortly be starting on a new Alzheimer’s drugs trial, our only hope for a future together.
