We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

My Granny suffered from dementia when she passed away and so I have chosen to run for Alzheimer's Research UK to help support research into this horrible disease. I know so many families who have loved ones currently battling with Dementia/Alzheimer's and so by taking on the biggest challenge of my life - the London Marathon - I hope that the funds I can raise can help research into this area and ultimately find a life-changing treatment for the diseases that cause dementia.

The focus of Alzheimer’s Research UK is to fund research into dementia and all the diseases that cause it. Their mission is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025. Our vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.

Globally, the numbers of people living with dementia will increase from 50m in 2018 to 152m in 2050, a 204% increase. The goal of dementia research is to accelerate progress towards a treatment for the diseases which cause dementia.
