We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

I am a mum of two girls that both suffer with mental health illnesses and sadly our family know only to well the devastating consequences these illnesses have brought into our lives. Both of our beautiful daughters have had suicide attempts on their young lives. We have been flung into a world that was completely alien to us and are desperately trying to navigate our way through this minefield of emotions. We simply take each day at a time and with the love and support of our friends and family we will fight on.

I felt the need to embark on this challenge for multiple reasons. It is giving me a personal focus that would challenge my physical wellbeing as well as help support my own mental health during this difficult time but most importantly raise funds and awareness for PAPYRUS.

Our story is by no means isolated, suicide is the biggest killer of under 35's in the UK and we desperately need to raise funds, awareness and simply talk about the subject.

Talking openly and safely about suicide will help to #SmashTheStigma

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.  PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK.

Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving.

Thank you for reading my story and if you can donate to my cause I would be most grateful.

Much Love Kate xx
