I'm doing a half marathon!

Fundraising for Different Strokes (Trustees) Limited
17 years after doing my first (and only!) half marathon, I'm giving it another go. I must be mad with my knees, so figured if I'm doing this, I'm doing it for a worthwhile cause.
Most of you know I unexpectedly lost my Dad to a stroke 3 years ago. I saw the devastating effects a stroke can have, so can only imagine the daily difficulties survivors must face.
Most people assume strokes only happen to older people. I was shocked to find out that around 1 in 4 strokes happen to people of working age. That could be you or me.
So I'm raising money for 'Different Strokes', a small charity providing peer support for younger stroke survivors and their families. Most of their staff and volunteers are young stroke survivors themselves, family members or have a close personal connection to stroke. Their services include support groups, online forums, an information help line and family support.
I am lucky to have my friend Jenny running alongside me, but knowing I have your support will keep me going to the finish line, as this is going to be a challenge! Every penny counts, so even the smallest of donations is appreciated.
As I was unable to make the rearranged London Landmarks half date, Different Strokes kindly transferred my place to the Bournemouth half on 10th October. I also have a place with them in the London Landmarks half in April 2022. So you now get 2 for the price of 1 with your sponsorship!
Thanks, Kate x
