My scientific career began with the opportunity to conduct summer research at NASA as a high school student. I applied to the Science Talent Search hosted by the Society for Science and was selected as a finalist. As a low-income student in Louisiana, this science competition changed my life, leading me to Stanford University where I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Earth System Science. 

Give to Science Day is a wonderful opportunity to support today’s young researchers. The Society for Science has many exciting programs, with outreach and equity as a priority. It is essential to have a diverse scientific workforce to achieve the innovation we need for the 21^st century. Please join me in supporting this work!
