Oxford Half Marathon 2016 · 9 October 2016 ·

If you're running the Oxford Half and want to fundraise for the Trust so we can keep supporting everyone in Oxfordshire to be the best possible version of themselves, this is the way to do it!

Story

The Oxford United FC Youth and Community Sports Trust is amazing. East Oxford is one of the most deprived parts of England, with residents facing a range of challenges in areas such as health, housing, education and employment. The Trust works in 29 schools in the area, using the power of football not only to promote fitness, but also as a tool to help young people engage with their education, to develop confidence, aspiration and important life skills.

And it’s not only the young who benefit from the Club’s passion for the community of which it is a part. Older residents are offered fitness programmes such as walking football, and the Trust works with local mental health agencies to help people suffering from depression.

Frankly I can’t quite believe that I’ve committed to running 13.1 miles on behalf of OxVox, the Oxford United Supporters Trust (http://www.oxvox.org.uk/). By supporting me in this insane endeavour you’ll also be enabling all of this hugely important work to continue.
