Story
On July 17th, I'll be knocking back the Kalms and Rescue Remedy before "enjoying a 20-minute flight up to 10,000 feet" then jumping out of a plane to do a tandem skydive. For some reason, I thought this was easier than running 10k.
Our daughter Dottie suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage during delivery and had emergency brain surgery at 4 days old to drain the massive bleed. She miraculously survived but the next few days, weeks and months were very uncertain. As she gained strength, it was still doubtful that she would ever sit up let alone walk or talk. But gradually overtime, she reached these milestones and as a family, we put a lot of these achievements down to the wonderful team at Stick 'n' Step. There's no doubt that their hard work week in, week out, was paramount in getting Dottie walking, at first with a frame but now unaided.
Stick 'n' Step support over 100 children and young people with cerebral palsy who attend weekly sessions of group conductive education. They enable and inspire each individual child to reach their full potential by providing conductive education, a combination of holistic therapies enhancing their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. Stick 'n' Step provide children with opportunities to take on challenges that may have been out of their reach beforehand, encouraging them to become more mobile, more confident and more independent.
