Story
Hellooo!
Well I'm going to do the Midnight Walk (10km) on Saturday 9th July 2011. It's the 25th Anniversary of my local hospice and I'm keen to raise as much as I can by doing the walk, and trying to be quick too.
I did the walk 2 years ago starting and finishing at Gosforth Race Course, walking with my mate Lisa Lyons. We had a great time, managed to finish within the first 50 or so, which was really good considering we started about 600 back from the front and that Lisa fell off the kerb in the dark just as we began! We also managed to raise quite a bit of money too.
Why am I doing the walk? In my work I come across many people and families affected by life shortening conditions. St Oswald's hospice is part of my local service and it has always provided an excellent service to my patients that have spent time there in the years I have worked in the North East. I started at Scotswood GP Practice in January 2010 and I plan to walk this year on behalf of all my patients at the Practice.
