Story
On Sunday the 19th of September I am swimming 7k down the Wye River to support the Severn Area Rescue Association, for fun (apparently!). I signed up - or rather was signed up - for this in 2020 when I was swimming 5 times a week and then COVID-19 hit and I ditched the pool and took up the bike. Getting back into the pool 18 months later, well actually a lake, a VERY COLD lake it has to be said, has been interesting to say the least. Anyway, the reason for doing this - apart from the fact that I clearly didn’t have enough going on in my life, fancied dressing up head to foot in neoprene and wanted to improve my front crawl - is that my husband supports SARA with searches. He’s staying warm and stewarding on the day and I get to swim in the cold river. Still not sure how that works but please help me support a worthy organisation that goes out at all times of the day and night, and all weathers, to find missing people and reunite them with their loved ones.
