Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This cause has become acutely important to me in a way that I'd not anticipated.
It feels right to try to do something to support everyone who is living with a diagnosis of terminal cancer, and recognise that the support Mare Curie provide makes a big difference to the person but also their close family and wider network of friends.
My original target for fundraising was £500, and I wasn't sure that this was realistic at all. A very generous donation means that the original target was achieved in early 2019, and I'm so grateful to the donors. It seemed to me that I shouldn't move the goalposts but it has been suggested that those who would like to donate but haven't so far may be supported by a new target, rather than the thought that fundraising is complete (it's never complete when the cause is so huge and affects so many).
So I've created some space for anyone who'd like to, to sponsor me and raise more for Marie Curie, and hope that all you people who have so kindly donated already, recognise that you've made such a difference that the larger target seems a possibility, even at such close proximity to the event.
I've entered this event having never run a marathon.
As part of training for it I will complete my first marathon as well, the Imerys marathon in Cornwall on 19th May.
This will be followed on 13th July 2019 by the 100km Race to the Stones which I intend to complete in around 20 hours.
Training updates also on my blog www.runningonreserve.com
Please support my efforts to make a difference!
