C40RES
On Saturday 20th July I have decided to take part in a zip wire challenge in Snowdon, North Wales. This is the fastest zip line in the world, reaching speeds of up to 100mph, and is the longest in Europe at 1 mile long. The wire soars over Penrhyn Quarry so there should be some great views (if I keep my eyes open) and you get to feel the freedom of flight. (You all know I hate flying right!!!). So why am I doing this??
I am proud to say that I was friends with Claire Cain, who was the inspiration behind the idea for Claire House. September 2018-2019 is the year in which her classmates are all turning 40 and this has been the starting point of a fundraising idea - together as a group of her friends, to raise £40,000 over the course of the school year through various fundraising ideas. Some big, some small, some challenging, some fun, and this zip wire is my individual challenge. Claire's 40 for 40. (C40RES)
Claire loved music and music plays a key role in activities at Claire House on the Wirral and the new Claire House in Liverpool. It costs just over £40k to run the music and care package at Claire House for a year. Through 'Claire's 40 for 40' we want to pay for this provision for a year at Claire House. The music and care package would pay for play workers to work both in Claire House and in children's own homes. They use various methods and technologies to make music accessible and fun to children, tailored to their personal needs. This includes things like Makaton singing, Soundbeam, Resonance Board and going out on trips to concerts.
I would be so grateful if you could help in contributing to our goal of £40,000 by sponsoring me in this challenge. X
