Story
So I have dusted off my walking shoes (last worn in 1998) and have commenced the 8 months of training required for me to take on the mammoth 100km (62.1 miles) South Coast Challenge at the end of August. Alongside other members of Team Tree of Hope, I'll be aiming to complete the walk in 24 hours. For someone who is normally tucked up by 10pm, staying awake through the night is going to be a challenge in itself.
This challenge is HUGE for me. For someone whose idea of exercise is nipping to the corner shop to stock up on strawberry laces I haven't signed up for this lightly. So far reaction from friends and family have ranged from "you're insane" to "I really really don't think it's a good idea" to the most common reaction which is just laughter, a lot of laughter.
Although I'm inclined to agree I must be slightly insane to take on a challenge taken on by the Gurkhas, I know it is nothing compared to the challenges faced on daily basis by the hundreds of children Tree of Hope supports and that your sponsorship will enable Tree of Hope to reach more families in 2019 and beyond.
