In a moment of madness I signed up for the 5k as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on 24th May 2014 and thought it would be an ideal opportunity to raise much needed funds for the Scottish SPCA, marking 175 years of rescuing and rehoming animals in Scotland.  The SSPCA receives no government or lottery funding and relies solely on public donations to continue its vital work with both wild and domestic animals.

Any support you are able to spare for this great cause will be very gratefully received and much appreciated. 

A final thought - and a quote from Mahatma Gandhi "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated".
