Story

"So,  I have had a go at a couple of sprint distance triathlons, run a few half marathons and participated in some cycling sportives, now I'm ready for a bigger challenge.... I think!  Comprising a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run, the Nottingham Outlaw Half will definitely take me well beyond my comfort zone.

As some of you will know, my brother Richard died in a mountaineering accident in the Scottish Cairngorms in November 2006. I would like to recognise the efforts of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team who tried to save his life, by raising some money which will help them in their future rescue operations. I have been reluctant to ask for sponsorship in the past, however this feels like a great opportunity to raise some money for a cause which is highly relevant to myself and many of you who will be reading this page.

I am immensely proud of what Richard accomplished in his life not least competing in the Weymouth Half Ironman triathlon when he was just 18 years old. Inspired by Richard's achievements and love of a challenge, I have decided to participate in the Nottingham Outlaw Half Iron distance triathlon on June 2nd this year.

It would be brilliant if you'd like to sponsor me. However much you can manage would be greatly appreciated and having your support will keep me motivated on race day!"
