Hello there!

I'm Caroline, and I'm embarking on a remarkable journey that I want to share with you. I am living with Usher's Syndrome, a condition that has challenged not just my hearing but also my vision, which began deteriorating when I was just 19. My dream? To become the first DeafBlind person to conquer the mighty Mt. Everest! It might sound crazy, but it's a dream that's been burning inside me.

I'm aware that both deaf and blind individuals have separately achieved this incredible feat, but the idea of a DeafBlind person reaching Everest's summit is uncharted territory. If there's ever a chance, I want to seize it before my sight slips away entirely. Time is ticking, and I've realized it's now or never. I'm just a student with limited resources and connections, but I won't know what's possible unless I try, right?

To my surprise, a filmmaking team has expressed interest in documenting my journey! The excitement is beyond words!

I plan to use this opportunity not just for personal achievement but also to raise awareness and promote representation. I'll document this entire journey, including my training with the amazing people of Nepal, who will play a crucial role in this adventure.

My first training milestone is the BathHalf, and I've chosen to fundraise for Frank Water. A few years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to receive getaway grants from my university, allowing me to go on a volunteering trip to a deaf school in Nepal. During then, I witnessed firsthand the urgent need for safe water in the community. Did you know that a mere £12 can grant one person access to safe water and sanitation for life? While this amount might not seem substantial, it takes on immense significance when we consider that over 660 million individuals worldwide lack this fundamental necessity. I'm excited to take on this challenge and contribute to Frank Water's vital work in Nepal. Your support in helping us reach our target will mean safe water and improved sanitation for at least 20 people, making a tangible difference in their lives.

Any amount you're comfortable donating to this cause would mean the world to us. My birthday was about a week ago, so why not celebrate with a donation equivalent to the cost of a slice of cake? Every single penny of your donation will go directly to support Frank Water Projects.

Join me on this incredible adventure. By embracing this, I hope to inspire others to discover their extraordinary paths and make a real difference in this world. Let's embark on this journey together!

With gratitude,

Caroline
