Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page for the London Marathon 2005. I have taken on the challenge of the marathon for very personal reasons and to raise as much money as I possibly can for Cancer Research.
I completed the Marathon in 4 hours 19 minutes and 59 seconds and am glad to say I did it without any major injury, all that training paid off in the end. I did however go through a fair amount of pain in the last 6 miles and certainly when the cramp set in at 24 miles, I was reduced to a fast walk. I needed the full 750,000 crowd to help me through those 6 miles and it was great to hear people calling out my name and telling me I could make it.
I really enjoyed the day but better still I still have some last minute sponsorship coming in which I'm sure will take me through the £6000 mark which is very humbling.
Thank you all for your sponsorship and personal support on behalf of myself and Cancer Research UK this money will make a real difference.
