Story
Well as you can see i did it!! 4hrs 22mins.. Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who kindly sponsored me, we have all been so overwhelmed by your generosity, and have raised so much more than Amy and I ever thought possible.
As for my run all I can say is that I loved every minute of it, what an amazing experience and the support from the spectators was fantastic as anyone there on the day would tell you.
Once again many thanks from all of us.
Hi everybody,
My name is on Karl, and on the 17th of April 2011 I will be running in the London Marathon. There are three reasons why I decided to run in the marathon of which I would like to tell you. Firstly I am running on behalf of my beautiful girlfriend Amy Lodder, Amy was diagnosed with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis. (LAM) Feb 09. Secondly I wanted to raise the awareness of this horrible disease to lots of other people so that we can raise vital funding for advance research of LAM. There is no cure and no treatment that has proven to be effective. Symptoms include shortness of breath, collapsed lung, chest pain, coughing and severe fatigue. LAM occurs exclusively in women of child bearing age and many doctors believe that pregnancy accelerates the disease. LAM results in progressive destruction of healthy lung tissue caused by cysts forming abnormal growths. lung capacity over a number of years slowly declines leaving you in need of oxygen therapy. Thirdly and not nearly as important as all the above im running because I can! good health is a gift and during the last year we all have realised how precious our lives are. So on Sunday April 17th I will be pounding the streets of London, not just for Amy but for everybody who's lives are effected by LAM. We would like to thank you for your support, every penny counts and your donation WILL make a difference
