Story
Whoever thought they’d see the day that I was going to get myself in good enough shape to put myself through a gruelling Triathlon? (No snide comments now :P) The event will comprise of a 0.75k Swim, followed immediately by a 21k Cycle (I have to get on a bike, dripping wet – that’s worth a sponsor alone) and then straight into a 5k run. The estimated time for this event is 2 hours. That’s 120 minutes of fast paced pain. Don’t worry guys – I have invested in a very supportive sports bra!
A little about my chosen charity: Unfortunately, I lost a childhood friend to Muscular Dystrophy in April 2011 – he was aged just 19. There is currently no cure for this vicious and cruel illness, so every penny does count. CHAS have a hospice called Rachel House which Kyle absolutely loved, and looked forward to getting off the Shetland Islands once a year to spend what turned out to be some of the best days of his life surrounded by his family, and more importantly smiles. This wouldn’t have been possible without CHAS:
“Rachel House offers a place where families can relax, recharge their batteries and have fun with their children. Expert care is on hand to help them make the most of each day and live life to the full. CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.”
From the bottom of my heart, which I hope is still ticking at the end of this, I please ask that you give anything you can to help me raise my goal by the 12 August 2012.
Thank you to all,
Karla xxx
