For the past month, we have been volunteering in 3 projects in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Here is a brief summary of each of the projects...

Childcare: This program is run by Save the Children called a Ludoteca where the focus is on empowering disadvantaged kids to know and apply their rights aswell as providing a safe environment in which they can learn and play. This school is run only by donations and therefore they are in need of essential equipment such as treated furniture, stationary, water and teachers.

Healthcare: This program aims on assisting children with special needs and disabilities by delivering basic education and life skills at the Centro de Equinoterapia y Atención Integral School. In addition, aqua therapy and horse therapy is also offered but at a higher cost, therefore hardly any of the children can afford to attend these treatments despite the life changing benefits. Donations would also assist these kids in gaining vital equipment such as wheelchairs and hearing aids. 

Veterinary Clinic: Coco's Cat and Dog rescue aims to control the number of wild and abandoned animals by providing necessary surgical operations so that they have the ability to be adopted and thus enhance their chance of survival. This program is also only run by donations and therefore money is needed to expand the clinic to make space, as well as provide essential treatments such as antibiotics and rabies injections.
