Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year we are running to raise money for beat. Anorexia is a very complex illness, once it takes hold it can be very difficult to treat, this is the story of a friend:
‘’ My daughter became ill with Anorexia Nervosa 4 years ago at the age of 10 and our family life changed beyond recognition. My daughter, now 14, has treatment resistant Anorexia Nervosa and is sectioned under the Mental Health Act. After trying to commit suicide several times, she is currently in a psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. She has not eaten or drank for 2 years and is tube fed against her will.
Beat is a charity which provides a forum for young people, parents and carers to go to for help and advice about an illness, that until it happens to someone close to you, you are not really aware of. This illness is unbelievably selfish; it has already taken 4 years of my daughter’s life.
We need to support this charity as by heightening awareness of this illness we can try and prevent and/or offer support to those who need it.
Please give generously. Thank you.’’
