Story
Hi all,
As many of you know, I'm currently getting back to fitness after knee surgery earlier this year, and so I want to participate in a marathon to set myself a target to push towards to prove to myself and others that you can achieve great things. For me, going from struggling to walk to several months to being able to run 26 miles will be a great achievement.
Now on to the serious bit... Not many of you will know that I lost my granddad a couple of years ago to Cancer. It was a very sudden diagnosis & death - both coming within 10 days of each other despite there being several previous visits to doctors and hospitals. Because of my experience, I'm more determined to do something to support finding a cure and aiding the prevention of cancer. My elected charity is Cancer Research.
So I'm doing this run to beat cancer, to prove that people can do great things against the odds, and to show all the athletes and sports people that I work with on performance coaching that you can bounce back with more power and determination after a setback.
Come on guys, spread the word, help me raise THOUSANDS for a great cause!
