This is for Philip Eccles! A man I never knew or ever met, please take the time to read this story to find out why I'm doing what I'm doing.

I'm putting myself through 24 hours of hell at the end of May in 2013! Why? Cause I want to raise money and awareness for Brain Tumour UK.

Last year I bumped into a friend I've known since I was 4 years old. Over the course of the coming months I got to listen to all of the great and fun stories that had happened since we left school so so many moons ago. What I wasn't prepared for (cause they don't teach you this at school) was how to handle things when the stories turn to how this friends husband had, battled and eventually lost his battle with a brain tumour.

The friend? Laura Eccles (Jones at school). Listening to just some of the things Laura decided to share with me was just heart breaking.

Even though I never had the pleasure of knowing or meeting her husband I suggested the 3 Peaks Challenge (didn't plan on her asking me to take part) to raise money for charity.

The husband? Philip Eccles. By all accounts (and I don't doubt any of them) a remarkable man who had such zest for life, the absolute life and sole of any party and just a top all round fella!

Knowing the little I know about brain tumours, I know more needs to be done into researching this disease that takes people like Philip and affects the surrounding family and friends. I’m sure we all know somebody that has been affected by cancer and so I’m sure you’ll understand why more money and awareness needs raising.

So I’m doing something for someone I never met or knew and all I’m asking you now is to donate a small amount to Brain Tumour UK. Dig as deep into those pockets as you can but please just dig!!!
