Recent research from Macmillan shows that men are 22% more likely to get cancer than women, but less than half as likely to contact the Macmillan Support Line.
The money raised through the partnership could help to fund Macmillans community of over 7,700 healthcare experts and nurses across the UK. £422 could support frontline staff in running the Macmillan Support Line phone service for one hour. In this time, they could answer 22 calls and web enquiries from men who want questions answered, need practical or financial support, or just want to chat.
MR. Barbers are aiming to raise over £26,000 which could pay for a Macmillan nurse for 6 months, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
