2010 Berlin Marathon · 26 September 2010 ·
Hello all, as you may have heard I am running the 2010 Berlin Marathon in aid of Alzheimer's Research Trust.
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and please donate what you can to a very good cause. I don't have a particular personal connection with Alzheimer's but simply chose it because it is a massive health concern for society and with an aging population in the UK this will only get worse. As I am sure you are aware Alzheimer's disease is a tragic and distressing illness which ruins not only the lives of those afflicted with it, but family members who may have to suffer seeing their loved-one change beyond recognition. Unfortunately, because it predominantly affects the elderly and due to societal taboos, Alzheimer's does not currently receive funding proportional to its impact on people's lives. Alzheimer's Research Trust funds research that aims to treat, prevent or cure Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
