Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am raising money for Headway Swindon

www.headwayswindon.org.uk/youhelp.htm

Headway is a national charity dedictaed to helping the victims of brain injury.  This can include injury sustained through accidents, such as traffic accidents and falls, through to conditions and diseases which impare brain function, such as tumours, sensory impairment and stroke.  Those who suffer brain injury, however it is caused, often suffer similar symptoms - memory impairment, loss of sight, difficulties in co-ordination, mood changes - and often find themselves prejudiced because of this.  Victims of brain injury often look no different to anyone else, and this heightens the difficulty in understanding the condition. Headway run a number of regional branches.

The Swindon and Wiltshire branch is a small but well established group with a lively and active outlook and a close group of staff and clients.  My cousin's wife, Hazel, suffered a brain tumour eight years ago, and she was ultimately forced to leave her work as a teacher.  When all else seemed lost, Headway Swindon provided a desperately needed outlet for her frustrations, concerns and for her creativity and imagination.  The people she met through Headway - both the staff and the clients - were key to her finding some purpose in life again.  The branch is heavily reliant on charitable donations, and I would urge you to help them out through my sponsorship so they can continue to work for Hazel and others like her.

You can visit Hazel's blog at www.doiknowyou.co.uk

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Headway - the brain injury association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
