Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It was two years ago in May that I dug my rusty bike out of the garden shed and decided that, despite not being able to cycle more than 3 miles, that I wanted to take on the epic challenge of cycling from Saigon to Angkor Wat in order to raise a shed load of money for Macmillan.
I need to be able to comfortably cycle 50 miles a day for 8 days straight. Over the last two years I've set myself ever increasing targets: In May 2014 it was 10 miles without stopping. In September 2014 I could do 30 miles with ease. In May 2015 I "managed" 75 miles (I didn't set out to cycle that far - but who cares? I did it!). But I've still got lots more training to do.
And why Macmillan? In the last 16 years I have worked in and with the NHS and I have had the pleasure of working alongside the fabulous nurses from Macmillan. They do an incredible job supporting those suffering from cancer and their families - I've always admired their dedication, compassion and resilience.
Over 98% of Macmillan's income comes from fundraising and donations. Your donation won't just help those in need, but will really motivate me as I continue my training.
