Story
- Our fundraising so far .... 8 of us took part in a skydive back in October. I have also hosted some fundraising evenings at our Daventry football club.
- So now time for a Wingwalk to raise lots more needed funds for my chosen charity Muscular Dystrophy UK
So why are we fundraising for this amazing charity? I would like to begin by telling you about our dearest friend Holly.
Holly's family and ours have been mates for years. We first met her in sunny Turkey in 2004 when she was just 11 years old. A beautiful little blonde lady with rapunzel hair flowing down her back who in the words of Mark swam like a fish. She had so much charisma and hope for her future - we were floored by her genuineness and outlook on life.
At the tender age of 7 Holly was diagnosed with FSHD and was the youngest person in the UK to have a diagnosis; by the age of 12 Holly was wheelchair reliant. Now at the age of 29 she is also starting to lose some of the use of her hands which are key in helping her transfer from her wheelchair.
Holly has refused to let her diagnosis dictate her life and lives as normal a life as possible working with children in her local community. Her attitude is can do not what she can't. She is such a kind hearted spirit always thinking of others before herself.
Who are Muscular Dystrophy UK ? @MDUK fund research and support families of those living with this terrible diagnosis. Thanks to research and funding their scientists are pioneering techniques to target treatments precisely. This has the potential to stop the disease in its tracks. But research is expensive and they need your help.
SO PLEASE DONATE ! People like our lovey Holly rely on MDUK's support, MDUK rely on the generous donations of people like you !
