Story
As you all know, my beautiful mom (Denise Shaw) died in 2012 to Cancer (a very aggressive brain tumour which came to a blow to all of us) and after much research, I found out that Brain Tumour Research receives LESS that 1% of the National UK's spending!! It is extremely underfunded!!!!!! Brain tumours are the biggest Cancer killer of UK children!! And MORE people under 40 die of a brain tumour than from any other cancer!!! Even though my mom was 54 when she died, it was no age....Brain Tumour Research MUST get more recognition than this!!!!
During my moms illness, I started thinking of ways to change this pathetic research outcome. I started to sell 'helpharryhelpothers' bracelets and I applied to do the 'walkforharry' (Harry Mosely from the West Midlands who died of a Brain Tumour in 2011 at the mere age of 11) with a few supportive friends/family.
Following the loss of my mom, I then took part in the 26mile 'walkforharry' in the same year, just a few months after. This was to do my bit to raise as much money and awareness for 'brain tumour research UK' and I managed to raise £1015.50, which was truly amazing! I also sold bracelets and cakes at my nephews school fete with my nephew (Lewis) and sister (Tracey) too even after the arrival of my sisters twin babies Harvey & Faith :)
Now 2 years later, I want to do the same again, but on a slightly smaller scale. I will be taking part in 'race for life' in Longbridge. Hopefully consisting of running, dancing and walking 10k :D (just over 6 miles) I'm majorly unfit and it's definitely going to be a challenge to get in shape for it - but I know it's something I've GOT to do in order to raise money for a cause so close to my heart. Please donate as little or as much as you can, whether it be 50p or £50, haha, I'd be truly grateful!!! Thanks guys :)
