Story
I've never done a step count challenge though I've always wanted to join. Why not make it extra challenging and do it alongside the #StayAtHome lockdown challenge? Don't mind if I do!
Wait, 100,000 steps in April you say... :O
The main reason I'm choosing to do this now is that I have the luxury of having a home at which to safely self-isolate. What about protecting the most vulnerable at a time of crisis? I'm aware that at times like this, it is usually organizations, groups and individuals who #StepUp and help those in need. I figured I could do my very small part - for which I am still benefiting by getting myself away from my office/home each day.
It would be great if you could support this cause with any amount (no contribution is too small) - perhaps some of the cash you might have saved this week on a coffee run or bus fare?
If not a good time to donate, then I'd love a gif of yourself cheering me on ;)

About Cyrenians:
At Cyrenians we tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness.
COVID-19 poses a real challenge to those facing the causes and consequences of homelessness.
It poses a challenge to those whose choices are already restricted by low incomes, who are already more likely to be socially isolated and suffering poor mental health, and often do not have the option or resources to self isolate.
Beyond the immediate health risks, this could place more people into poverty, or even further into destitution and homelessness.
We have had to adapt our service delivery in line with expert recommendations - both in order to delay the spread of the virus, and to ensure that those we support are not left isolated.
Our outreach team is still working to support those on the sharp end of homelessness with lifeline support, providing advice, emotional support, and emergency food packages. We're providing essential person-centred support to struggling families and older people through digital methods, who may be feeling isolated or struggling with relationship breakdown. We're also continuing to support communities across Central and South East Scotland through our FareShare depot, and looking at ways we can further help those most in need.
We know that as the situation continues we will need to do more. We also know that many people are now based at home and want to stay motivated and feel as though they are still making a difference .
Thats why were launching our #StepUP challenge in April. Were asking people to get involved and make their #StayAtHome exercise more meaningful by creating their own challenge fundraiser. If youd like to take a #StepUP and go a little bit further to help us during this crisis, you can find out more about getting involved by visiting our website. All funds raised from the #StepUP challenge will go directly to our Covid-19 crisis appeal.
