Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please 'dig deep' and sponsor me online.
Trinity Hospice is a very worthwhile charity and has helped people who have been important in my life and in the lives of people I care about. My aunt is currently very poorly and receives care from the hospice on a weekly basis. My mum was due to go into Trinity Hospice but unfortunately died before a bed became available for her.
The Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride is 60 miles and is a mammoth task for me - many of you will know that excercise and I have been strangers for the LONGEST time - but the thought of raising money for such a worthwhile cause is spurring me on.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Trinity Hospice (The Brian Wyers Memorial Fund Ltd) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now and help me to raise funds for Trinity Hospice and make the lives of people who have only a short time left much easier to bear.
Update 13/6/08 Only one month to go now. My goal this week was to cycle 100 miles during the week and I've done it! The weather is not being kind - the strong wind seems to be against me whichever direction I'm travelling in - but your kindness and generosity are spurring me on.
Update 14/7/08 Did it! Going over that finish line was one of the happiest moments of my life. It was a struggle - at times I felt as if I couldn't go any further. I even clipped the kerb and fell off my bike after about 35 miles but I got back on, grazed and bruised but spurred on by my lovely friends who were with me and by the thought of all the money which would go to the hospice.
Thank you to everyone - to all the lovely people who have sponsored me and to Peter, Katrina, Michelle and Judith for keeping me going on the day. Thank you also to my wonderful hubby, Kenny, for training with me to make sure I did it when it was the LAST thing I felt like doing and to my fab family for believing in me and having every faith that I could do it.
Many thanks for your support.
