My Mum was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in April 2009.  In Sept she had her Thymus Gland removed having found a tumour on it.  This involves opening the breastbone and removing the glad just under it.  Mum is on the road to recovery, but of course will continue to manage the Myasthenia for the rest of her life.
