Story

#Swim your way for Alder Hey

MY TARGET:

To be the first British woman to swim the Oceans Seven (the most difficult Channels in the world!) whilst raising £100,000 for Alder Hey Children's Hospital. All donations made will help them in their innovative approach to medicine and wellbeing. What they do for children and their families continues to inspire my efforts daily.

Catch up!

So far, I’ve raised over £40,000 by swimming the following mad challenges:

English Channel – 21 miles

Catalina Channel – 20 miles

Strait of Gibraltar – 9 miles

North Channel – 21.4 miles

Kaiwi Channel – 26 miles

Ice Mile in Hatfield

Ice Mile in the Arctic Circle

What Next?

This year with a lot of help from my friends I’m going to complete the last two.

Cook Strait 14 miles

Tsugaru Strait 12.1 miles

I can and I will - watch me! (MY Motto)

Why?

Over recent years my mental health has really suffered as a result of personal loss. I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and have been on a bit of a journey to get well. Open water swimming and fund raising have formed a big part of my recovery.

The positivity that fund raising for Alder Hey Children's Hospital has bought to my life is incredible.

These are the Ocean’s 7 Locations.

I’m not going to lie, each day continues to be a challenge since my husband died tragically in an accident, but we started this journey together and with the help of friends, family, I will finish it. 😊
