Back in January it seemed a good idea to challenge myself to climb Mont Blanc, having never climbed before. As the date for the climb approached, it all seemed very scary! I trained hard and am pleased to report that I reached the summit on 12 July.

The trip did not get off to the best of starts, with my luggage (including my beloved worn in mountaineering boots) chosing to stay in Amsterdam rather than join me on the trip. However, having rented boots, borrowed kit from my co climbers, and after an expensive trip to the shops in Chamonix (and I hate shopping!) I was fully kitted out in time and able to make the climb. The view from the top made it all worth while (I think!).

I have decided to try to raise money for a charity which means a lot to me, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The charity needs £6,900 a day to run, and I would like to try to raise a substantial part of  what I understand it costs to keep one ambulance in the air for a day.
