Story
Dear All, just to let you all know that I completed the 1/2 marathon in 2 hours & 17 minutes my target was 2 hours 20 minutes (next time maybe it will be 2 hours 10 minutes!) It was a fantastic day and the atmosphere was brill. It was such fun and it was such an inspiration to see so many people (5,000) taking part and completing the 13.1 miles. I was really pleased that friends came to cheer me on (Andy even tried to start the run at 10 miles in, I think he just wanted to get his photo in the paper!). My iPod also helped me through with tracks like Queen 'another one bites the dust', Scissor Sisters 'comfortably numb', Pink 'I'm not dead just floating', Red Hot Chillies 'road trippin', Black Eyed Peas 'pump it' too name but a few ..............
Our travel lodge was next to the start line so at 3am Sat morning I was woken up by a bleeping van and the metal barriers being put in place (so much for a good nights sleep). I did feel tired on Sunday night but woke on Monday morning with only a small muscle ache in my right thigh, but I think that was from digging the garden on Sunday afternoon!
I have raised approximately £300.00 for the Association of Childrens Hospices so a big thank you to all of you that donated and had faith in me to complete the course.
Your support has been much appreciated, many thanks .
