Hi thanks for visiting my page.
Whilst watching the London Marathon last year on the Embankment, I was inspired to set myself the goal of running a marathon on turning 40. At this point I had only ever run about 7miles having started running the year before in the aim of doing a 5K race for life.
In January of this year and the last few months in my 30’s I began my training programme, little did I know what I was letting myself in for! I’m now feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension into the lead up to the 25th May.
I decided I would like to make this more of a challenge and do some good by raising funds for a much deserved local charity – Help for Heroes; who provide crucial support to members of the armed forces wounded following duties in Afghanistan and Iraq. They have a target of building a new gym & swimming pool at the Defence Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court.
Please have a look at their website – help for heroes I’m sure it will make you want to dig deep into your pockets to help OUR servicemen recover from their terrible injuries.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
