Story
Our son Oliver was born at 31 weeks in 2008 a tiny 3lb 4oz (as you can see from the photo not much bigger than my hand). Oliver became very ill at 3 weeks old and we nearly lost him, luckily thanks to the quick action of the nurses in the hospital they saved his life. Having a premature baby is an awful time for parents, nothing can prepare you for it. Oliver is now 10 years old and fit and healthy. We are very lucky as not all children born so early go on to make a full recovery. I
’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because there are more than 100,000 babies born needing neonatal care every year and I want to make a difference to them. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.
