Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. In May 2021 my Dad was diagnosed with ALM Leukemia, this was a double hit for the family as my brother was also diagnosed with ALM Leukemia earlier in March 2021. In August 2021, Dad sadly lost his battle against this terrible disease. What was really important to Dad was to die peacefully at home, where he could be surrounded by his family without the Covid restrictions imposed by hospitals and hospices. He wanted to share his final days surrounded by love and that is exactly what he got. However it was hard, terribly hard nursing a loved one in their final days, and I know that my Mam and I could not have done it without the 24 hour support of the Macmillan carers. They were there not only to help Dad retain his dignity in his final days, but also to support us emotionally through this incredibly difficult time. I will be eternally grateful for the support, love and laughter they brought with them, and want to support Macmillan in my own way by raising some much needed funds for this charity. If you can help in any small way that would be brilliant.
