Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 29th October 2009 our 2 year old daughter Amelia had open heart surgery to repair a hole and faulty valve - a condition with which she was born. Thanks to the skill and dedication of the cardiac unit at Birmingham's Children's Hospital under Mr David Barron who led the surgery, Amelia has made a very satisfactory recovery and is now a fit and healthy 13 year old!
The medical staff on the Intensive Care Unit and Ward 12 were outstanding in providing support to Amelia, Paul and myself at a very traumatic time. Paul and I have over the years raised £6500 to buy essential medical equipment to assist in the treatment of other sick children. Now Amelia is old enough she wants to raise money for this fantastic cause so that other children and their parents can experience the level of care and support that we did.
You may not be aware that the Birmingham Children's Hospital is very highly regarded in it's field and children are treated there from all over the country..not just the Birmingham area. Someone's child you know may need to use the services of the hospital at some time so it's very important that we raise as much as possible.
