Royal Parks Half Marathon - NSPCC teamGO · 11 October 2009 ·
I know it sounds unbelievable, but I have actually committed to running a half-marathon for charity on October 11, 2009. Crazy, right? Well, yes. But it is for a great cause, so well worth the pain, suffering and potential race day humiliation. You see, if I hit the fund raising target, then I will know that even if I am the last person to cross the finish line (and I will cross it!) then it will be a success.
So
what's the charity? Its for the NSPCC - National Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Those of you in the UK will surely
recognise the name and know that they do great work by providing
children with a safe, confidential way to learn the facts about the
situations they may find themselves in (from abuse, to neglect, to
bullying and so forth) and also to help them make the right choices to
get help. For my friends and family at home, you will have to trust
me that it is a fantastic organisation.
My company (lastminute.com) is pitching in to sponsor the team of 35 of us running for this cause, but I need your help too! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the NSPCC and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Please forward to friends, family and everyone you know!
Thanks in advance for your help! I will post the before and after pictures on the day. I am sure you are all looking forward to that....
