Story
This year we are walking to raise funds for Acorns who helped us when we needed end of life care for my Son,Steven.Steven was diagnosed with a brain tumour at six years old. When he was sixteen he became really I'll and when we were told the hospital couldn't do anything to help Steven the they suggested Steven went to Acorns Selly Oak for the last days of his life.
Steven's anniversary is on the 2nd of November and Steven will of been gone for nine years. We like to raise money in Steven's memory and this walk seems fitting.Usually we have a larger group of family with us but because this year has been so different and groups can't mix,Michelle,Charlie Christine,Kelly,Tracy and I are going to map a little local walk and try and raise some money to help Acorns continue helping young children and families.
By taking part in Glow Walk for Acorns, I am raising funds to help keep the Black Country Hospice doors open to local families, who rely upon the care and support our hospice provides. On 24th October we will be dressed in our glow-in-the-dark best and glowing 2km / 5km / 10km, walking together for local families in need.By sponsoring us you could contribute to the following:>£3 could help us be there for siblings who need our support >£5 could help ensure that families don't go through grief alone >£15 could help us create magical memories for children in the Black Country >£25 could help us deliver vital support to a Black Country family in need >£50 could help us provide specialised end of life care to a local childThank you for helping Acorns in the Black Country to continue to be there for the children that need us.
