Just over two and a half years ago our daughter Eleni was born with Bilateral Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (Clubfoot) meaning that her right foot was fixed facing inwards. Having also been born myself with dislocated hips and been successfully treated at Stanmore Hospital they were our first port of call for Eleni's treatment. They have been nothing but outstanding from day one. From the lovely nurses in the plaster theatre who had to endure Eleni's (and my) tears on a weekly basis as her foot was cast into place. The consultant who performed her tenotomy at just 8 weeks old and especially her wonderful physiotherapist who has been there from day one supporting us as a family and answering all my concerns. They have all helped us on this journey.
Eleni is now half way through her treatment. She wears her boots and bar to bed and will continue to do so until she is 5. She continues to be a superstar throughout her treatment, she makes us so proud. Thanks to Stanmore Hospital her feet are fully corrected and she is an active 2 year old. If you weren't reading this now you would never know. This is my way of saying thank you to Stanmore Hospital for the amazing work they do and the difference they make to peoples' lives. I also want to show Eleni that despite being born with a lower limb disorder you can still achieve whatever you set your mind to.
