Story
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page and for supporting me. I have decided to do a parachute jump in aid of St Peter’s Hospice because I want to help and support the wonderful work the doctors and nurses do in caring for people who are suffering from a terminal illness. From personal experience, having lost my husband to cancer and working at the hospice, I see first hand the amazing positive impact that our nurses have on patients and their family. Being told that you have a terminal illness must be the most devastating, emotional and difficult time in your life but our staff make that bearable. They make sure our patients have the best possible quality end of life – so many of our patients have described them as “angels”.
People often think of a hospice as being a depressing and sad place – but that couldn’t be further than the truth. I was talking to a day hospice patient the other day and she said to me “Most people think of a hospice as a place of death but that is so wrong. When I get here, I feel alive and full of energy, the feeling of love and life is always around”.
Together, we can make every moment count for our patients and their families. Our nurses’ specialist care can literally give patients a new lease of life so they can spend positive, extra time with their loved ones. We do our utmost to fill the hospice with light and laughter, welcoming patients’ families and friends.
Please please support me in my parachute jump by making a donation to the hospice. You can help me make a difference to our patients lives. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
