Story
As a 100% Disnerd through and through I couldn't NOT incorporate some kind of a Disney theme to my challenge... So I will be walking/running/cycling the distance from Colchester Castle in Essex (my home town) to Cinderella's Castle in Walt Disney World Florida over the course of 2021.
This is a humongous distance - 4391 miles to be exact - so I will be splitting the challenge into 3 stages...
Stage 1 - Colchester Castle to Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland Paris - 224 miles
Stage 2 - Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland California to Cinderella's Castle in Walt Disney World, Florida - 2170 miles
Stage 3 - Colchester Castle to Cinderella's Castle in Walt Disney World, Florida - 4391 miles
I wouldn't be able to do any of this if it wasn't for my donor angel who provided me with these amazing lungs through the gift of organ donation, but also my amazing transplant team at Royal Papworth. Right from the first meeting with the team, I knew I was in good hands and didn't hesitate to put my life in their hands in 2014! Now I want to give back to them so they can continue to provide outstanding care for years to come!
I have decided to split any money raised between both of the teams at Royal Papworth who have enabled me to get where I am today - the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Unit and of course, the Transplant Continuing Care Unit. Both of these teams have given so much to keep me living and doing what I love that I want to thank them and give something back to them too! Now more than ever, regular hospital wards and units are struggling to manage day to day things, and I want to make sure that they can continue to provide the outstanding level of care and attention a little easier through my efforts!!
