Aspire Channel Swim 2018 · 10 September 2018 to 3 December 2018 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Georgia and myself are taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2018, swimming the distance of the Channel over 12 weeks to raise money for Aspire. Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice, housing and grants that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. This is a big challenge, but the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make, so please be generous!

Being told I was to lose at least 4 stone to be alive in around 15-20 years time got me thinking.
What way could I do this other than dieting alone?? Well i asked around and I was told about the aspire channel swim, I looked them up and there was no second thinking in it, I wanted to lose weight and well as inches and what better way to do it.. helping others as well as myself... before this I had never swum before. But now I cant keep out of the water.... what a better way to keep fit and helping other at the same time.

Georgia has now decided she will join me..

She has done very well and I'm very proud of her for doing this. Well done gg such a grown up thing to do. Keep up the hard work.
