Story
I was due to take part in the Moonlight Walk in June but sadly broke my ankle in two places at the end of May so couldn’t take part but it has been my ambition to complete it by the end of the year!
Recovery was and still is a lot slower than I anticipated, as a keen walker I naively thought I’d just bounce back if I did as I was told by the physios….then I got the news that I now have osteoporosis!! I do feel though that I am now recovered enough to attempt the Moonlight walk.
The walk is 15km (just over 9 miles) long and this is my disclaimer part! I am determined to complete the walk….however I do also need to listen to my body….this will be a real challenge for me. I am a positive person and I do like to meet any targets I set myself but on this occasion I need to be honest to myself and everybody who sponsors me….there is a chance I may not complete the walk in one go but I definitely attempt to cover the milage in a 24 hour period.
I am not taking this challenge lightly and am very thankful that Mark is supporting me by tagging along in the car….Courtney also wants to walk part of the walk with me. I am dressing up exactly as I would have done back in June…all Jubilee themed!! That’ll be a sight in itself!!
