On Sunday, Rich and I are taking part in the Wentworth Woodhouse 20k Follies Challenge.
The walk is in support of the long term restoration of one of Europe's largest, yet lesser unknown, stately homes. The house had been neglected for years but is, slowly but surely, being brought back to it's former glory.
Our walk will take us through Wentworth Village, Elsecar, Greasborough and Scholes and we will visit the Needles Eye, Hoober Stand, Kepple’s Column and Rockingham Mausoleum follies.
We’re playing our small part in the restoration of this “hidden gem” to help preserve the house for future generations.
We know that a lot has happened in the world since we signed up for this challenge and there are many really good causes asking for funding these days. This one is close our hearts and just so happens to be on our doorstep!
We’re making a donation to the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust and if you would like to support us and donate, then you can do so via this JustGiving page or directly via the Trust's website: (
https://wentworthwoodhouse.org.uk).
Any donation, no matter how small, will be put to very good use.
Here’s to having sore feet and aching limbs by Sunday evening!
Regenerating Wentworth Woodhouse is a huge task. The Preservation Trust need's everyone's help to ensure the house has a bright future. We would be grateful for any amount that you are able to gift via our Just Giving Page. Your support at this time will help to shape our future. Thank You!
