As many of you will know I lost my beloved mum 5yrs ago following complications to correct problems after cancer treatment 20years previous. Even more recently I also lost my fabulous dad just 2months ago to liver cancer after a very short illness. I still can’t quite believe they’ve both gone even after writing this!

This hike up Pen-y-Fan is right on my doorstep here in Wales - I can see the summit from my house - and I’ve done it quite a few times over the years. But it’s also just 3days after what would have been dads 73rd birthday. So however straight forward this challenge is to me it’s just he perfect place at the perfect time. However, I will add that I’ll be doing this in the cold and dark at night following a full week at school and no Tilly to keep me going : (

Now I know Dad would be grumpy with the fact the charity has ‘Wales’ in the title ; ) but Cancer Research Wales distributes well needed cancer research funding all over the UK so hopefully, one day in my lifetime, fewer families will have to go through the pain mine and thousands of others have. I appreciate any support you can give me to help raise funds in Dad and mums memory.
