Andrew has Aspergers syndrome (an Autistic Spectrum Disorder) but he is lucky as he does not need the services of the Space Centre, other families are not so lucky.

The SPACE Centre is unique. Established in 1993, it is the largest multi-sensory environment in the United Kingdom for people with special needs. We are located in Preston, Lancashire and currently offer a large, soft-padded multi-sensory room, with specialist lighting and even a slide! At SPACE, our clients can move around in safety and develop skills, in a calm and controlled atmosphere.

Our mission statement:

"To provide a place where those with physical, learning or emotional difficulties may more easily acquire skills and enjoy experiences usually denied them."
