Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am swimming the English Channel as part of a relay team of 6 people to raise money for Aspire. Our tide date is 10-18 July 2012, conditions dependant. We will be swimming in a costume, with a swimming hat and goggles (no wet suits allowed). Our attempt in 2012 was stopped after 3hrs 40 mins due to rough sea conditions. We were all very sea sick, as the water was very choppy.
Please help me and Aspire by making a donation (see details at the bottom). Aspire changes lives by supporting people with spinal cord injuries.
Where Your Money Goes:
Aspire’s Human Needs Fund gives grants to people to help them buy the specialist equipment they need to live a more independent life.
The Housing Programme provides fully accessible properties around the UK that can be used on a short-term basis whilst someone is adapting their own property or hunting for a permanent home.
The Aspire Independent Living Advisors work in the Spinal Cord Injury Centres, providing advice and guidance to the patients and ensuring they get the support and services they need.
And Aspire's Assistive Technology facilities in the Spinal Centres ensure that everyone, regardless of the level of their injury, has independent access to a computer.
