Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2020 I went for a routine mammogram, I nearly didn't go as we had just lost a very young and important member of the family and it was a difficult time ... I am so glad I did!
A shadow was discovered and I was referred for further tests and subsequently diagnosed with breast cancer. There were quite a few delays with treatments and surgery due to covid but I was lucky enough to have a lumpectomy in Swindon just before Christmas.
2021 has been difficult for most people and mine has so far been spent having chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I still have to endure weekly vaccinations and daily medication for the next 10 years but it is a small price to pay and I feel extremely lucky so far.
I have had amazing support from family and friends throughout and it is some of those friends that are organising an afternoon tea to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Now at Manorbier Bay on Saturday 28 August. Please come and join us but if you can't but would still like to donate then you can do so via this page.
Big thank you to Lisa Collins for coming up with the idea (and Natasha Declaire for helping to organise) and thank you everyone for your support
